Dried Bay Leaves

Weight: 30

A bay leaf is a aromatic leaf from the laurel tree, utilized as an herb. These leaves can be employed either fresh or dried, with the latter typically offering a slightly stronger flavour, and it is the more prevalent method of usage.

The flavour profile of dried bay leaves is akin to that of red wine, thyme, and basil. Bay leaves are typically not consumed directly, instead, they are simmered in sauces or added to braising liquids, being removed before serving. Occasionally, bay leaves are ground into a powder and employed akin to a spice.

Aside from being simmered in soups and stews, bay leaves are excellent for stuffing into the cavity of a chicken before roasting, and they can enhance the liquid used for cooking rice.

Keep it in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
