The Seguin vineyards are perfectly positioned against the upslope of the hills above the estate in Gevrey-Chambertin, village of the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy. Gérard Seguin is a purist when it comes to making rich, velvety Pinot Noir. His stellar reputation as a winemaker continue to grow each vintage. Respect for traditional methods remains the priority, while employing modern methods. By working this way, they hope to preserve their precious terroir.
Craipillot is less robust than other 1er Crus, it nevertheless possesses power and a lot of finesse. It is a complex and balanced wine with a delicate and persistent finish. It will ideally accompany meats in sauce and local cheeses such as L’Ami du Chambertin. A small production cuvée that enjoys breathing for 30 minutes in the decanter before service.
Pair it with beef, veal, poultry or any washed rince type of cheese.
