Clemenvilla originated in 1942 in Florida from a cross between two fruits : Fina (a tangerine) and Orlando Tangelo (a little orange). The fruit is also known as Nova.
Clemenvilla is a high quality, seedless hybrid mandarin. The thin peel comes away reasonably easily to reveal tight, firm segments that burst with flavoury juice. The eating quality is more satisfying as the flavour is enhanced by high levels of sweetness and a good acid balance.
Food Pairing:
The clemenvilla mandarin can be eaten raw, but also can be pressed to make some mandarine juice or use them in pastries. The zests can be used to perfume many sweet or salty dishes.
