From Spain, Galia Melon is grown in the Murcia and Almeria areas only. Round in shape, it has a dense netting of rough lines on its skin and becomes yellow at maturity. Sweet and aromatic, with a unique aroma and flavour, its ripeness is measured more by colour and fragrance than by softness at the stem.
Its pale green spicy-sweet flesh is refreshing and perfect to go with dry ham and a glass of Sangria or Port.
Food Pairing:
Perfect as a starter with Iberian ham.
