The grapefruit or Citrus Paradisi was discovered in Barbados around 1750 and is seen as a hydrid between the pomelo and the sweet orange. Grapefruits are categorized as white, pink, and ruby, based on their flesh color.
Marsh White Grapefruit has a thin yellow skin. It is an edible berry composed of a dozen sections. It grows in bunches or clusters, hence its English name of “”grapefruit””. Freshly eaten for breakfast, Marsh White Grapefruit may also be used in savoury salads, baked dishes or juiced in cocktails, dressing or frozen desserts.
Grapefruit is an excellent source of vitamin C, a vitamin that helps to support the immune system, helping to reduce cold symptoms.
