Strawberry, Candonga from Spain (Organic)

Candonga Strawberry is in high season now in Spain! It is known for its intense red coloured pulp, with a firm and aromatic taste combined with a fair sugar level.

It is said that strawberry was spread around the world by birds that carried their seeds during their migrations. There were strawberries already from the Neolithic but they became subject of a real culture from the 15th century in the Americas. It is a French spy named Francois Frézier who brought large round strawberries plants from Peru and Chile in the 17th century.

Filled with vitamins, fiber, and high levels of antioxidants called polyphenols, Candonga strawberry is sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free and low in calories. It is also recognized for being a good source of manganese and potassium.
