Sanguinelli oranges get their vibrant pigmentation of peel and flesh from temperature fluctuations between day and night producing anthocyanin, a molecule with antioxidant properties.

They are a good source of vitamin C, potassium, carotene, and dietary fiber. They can be kept up to two weeks in the refrigerator crisper compartment.
