Gold-winning authentic Greek Feta PDO, recognized at the World Championship Cheese Contest.
Tracing its lineage to antiquity, authentic Feta is one of the world’s oldest cheeses – famously featured in Homer’s Odyssey, where the Cyclops Polyphemus fashioned primitive white curds in his cave. Protected under strict EU PDO regulations, true Feta can only be produced in designated regions of mainland Greece and the island of Lesbos, using local sheep’s milk or a traditional blend with up to 30% goat’s milk. The cheese is aged for at least two months in saltwater brine, a process that both preserves it and allows its iconic Mediterranean character to fully develop.
Submerged in its brine, Arvaniti Feta reveals a pristine, snow-white paste with a firm yet moist, slightly crumbly texture. It opens with a clean, vibrant aroma of salted cream, fresh sheep’s milk, and a subtle lactic tang. On the palate, a velvety richness gives way to a sharp, salty bite, beautifully balanced by lemon-bright acidity and a lingering, herbaceous finish that evokes the wild mountain pastures of Greece.
Arvaniti sets the gold standard for Greek Feta, outshining industrial brands by aging its cheese in traditional beechwood barrels for an award-winning, complex flavor profile.
Pairing: Crumbled over a classic Greek salad with sun-ripened tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil, baked into flaky spanakopita, or drizzled with wild thyme honey and cracked black pepper alongside a glass of crisp Assyrtiko white wine or a chilled Greek ouzo. Store submerged in its original brine wrapped in parchment paper in your refrigerator.
