3ème Grand Cru Classé 1855
HK$552 cheapest HK retail price
Classified as a 3rd Grand Cru Classé in 1855, Château La Lagune stands out in the Haut-Médoc for its exceptional terroir and high proportion of Petit Verdot. Crafted under the meticulous guidance of winemaker Caroline Frey, this 2012 vintage pours a deep ruby-garnet color with violet reflections, showcasing the poise and finesse characteristic of this historic estate.
The nose opens with an elegant bouquet of ripe dark cherries, crushed cassis, and tobacco leaf, beautifully framed by subtle cedarwood, graphite, and toasted vanilla spice. On the palate, it exhibits a seamless, silky structure with fine-grained tannins that carry layers of blackberry compote, leather, and a hint of dark chocolate toward a long, harmonious finish.
Now approaching its ideal drinking window, serve at 16–18°C after aerating for 45 minutes. It pairs exquisitely with aged Ossau-Iraty Fermier, or duck breast.
