Aloxe-Corton AOC, Pinot Noir, Domaine Deveney Mars, 2020

At the heart of Domaine Deveney-Mars is the unexpected meeting of two men: Lionel Deveney and Jérémy Mars. Their paths crossed by chance, and they acquired their first one-hectare parcel in Auxey-Duresses. The Pinot Noir vines are located in the Corton Mountain. Between 200 and 300 metres above sea level, the soils are reddish brown with a lot of siliceous stones, flinty limestone debris, or loose, rich in potash and phosphoric acid.

The nose carries delightful notes of both black and red berries, accompanied by a subtle hint of cinnamon. On the palate, one can savour the fruity essence of prunes and a touch of zesty orange peel. This wine boasts well-structured tannins and maintains a harmonious balance with its refreshing acidity.

Abundant and luxurious, the distinguished tannins of the 2018 vintage are an ideal complement to red meat, whether grilled or served with a flavourful sauce, as well as roasted poultry. Alternatively, they harmonize beautipiecey with the creamy textures of soft cheeses.
