Founded by the Herran family, the farm is known for its traditional know-how and commitment to sustainable practices. Their apple compote is part of a range of velouté-style dairy and fruit products, made with local ingredients and minimal processing. The apples used come from orchards in the southwest of France. Fun fact: “velouté” means “velvety” in French, perfectly capturing the texture of this product.
This apple compote has a smooth, creamy texture and a soft golden color. It smells gently of fresh apples, and the taste is light, fruity, and not overly sweet. The natural sweetness of the apple is balanced by a hint of tartness. It’s easy to eat with a spoon and feels light and silky in the mouth.
