Beaujolais Villages AOC, Nouveau, Domaine des Chers 2026

Every year on the 3rd Thursday of November, wine lovers around the world celebrate a vibrant French tradition: the release of Beaujolais Nouveau. This lively ritual began in 1951 when winemakers successfully petitioned to sell their young wine earlier than the usual December 15 release date, marking a joyful toast to the end of the harvest season. According to French law, it’s illegal to open a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau before the 3rd Thursday of November. On the night before, bars and restaurants overflow with people counting down the final seconds until the wine is released.
