Very popular in South America and particularly in Brazil, picanha is a piece of rump steak at the top of the thigh. It is a very tender piece of meat. The thick layer of fat that covers it gives the meat its character and uniqueness as it melts during cooking.

The picanha is particularly well suited to barbecues, as the layer of fat penetrates the flesh and makes the meat ultra juicy. Otherwise, you can cut it in steaks.

Comes fresh. Can be frozen for longer preservation.
