Considered an old school technique, the sandstone amphorae ageing allows a slow oxygenation of the wines to obtain smooth tannins by the end of the process, hence a great balance on the palate for this Cabernet Franc.
Yannick Amirault took over the vines from his grandfather 30 years ago, and today with his son Benoit works 12 hectares in Bourgeuil and 7 in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgeuil. The family are seriously talented in the cellar and not shy of trying new things.
Cote 50 is a vibrant and easy-drinking Bourgueil, aged in oak barrels and sandstone amphorae, this organic wine is a great companion of grilled meats on the nose, notes of blackberry and blueberries. On the palate, Bell pepper more red than green.
