Caprice des Dieux was created in the family dairy of Illoud in Haute-Marne in 1956.
With its delicate taste of fresh cream, its white rind, its calisson shape and its original name (“God’s Whim” in English), Caprice des Dieux has seduced all generations.
Under its fine white colour, succumb to its fresh creamy taste and its melting heart. It is a real soft and unctuous pleasure.
Almost all the lactose present in the milk is eliminated during the draining, curdling and maturing procesCaprice des Dieux is therefore a naturally lactose-free cheese.
