Cheese Type: Uncooked, Unpressed, soft cheese with herbs
Produced for 3 generations by the Jacquin family, in the heart of the Berry, in the small village of La Vernelle, Carré du Berry is a fresh goat cheese coated by a blend of Provencal herbs, peppercorns and juniper berries. As the goats are grazing on the Loire river bank, their milk is exceptionally rich in flavour.
While young, Carré du Berry has a fresh and lactic flavour while aromatic and peppery flavours from its rind offers a delicious herbasceous aroma. Aged, the cheese gets floral and citrus aromas with a tangy creaminess.
White wine ( Sauvignon Blanc)
