Châteauneuf-du-Pape, André Brunel, “Cuvée Réservée” 2023

From the hallowed, sun-baked vineyards of the Southern Rhône, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape “Cuvée Réservée” is a masterful blend of the appellation’s iconic grape varieties. Crafted with meticulous care, it embodies the power, complexity, and elegance that have made this region famous among wine lovers worldwide.

This wine is a traditional blend of Grenache (40%), Syrah (40%), and Mourvèdre (20%) sourced from vines averaging 40 years old. The Grenache, grown on sandy soils, imparts a beautiful roundness and fruity richness, while the Syrah from rolled pebble soils adds powerful, structured tannins. The nose reveals dominant aromas of red fruits like strawberry and raspberry, followed by a lingering peppery finish. On the palate, the tannins are harmonious and elegant, offering a silky and refined texture.

While enjoyable now for its fresh fruit character, this wine has excellent aging potential. After five years, it will develop complex notes of leather and undergrowth, with a finish that gains in elegance and length. 

Serving: Serve at 16-18°C. For optimal enjoyment, decant 30 minutes before serving. This wine can be enjoyed young but will reward cellaring for 5-10 years.
