Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC, Domaine de la Manarine, 2019

Established in April 2001 by Gilles Gasq, Domaine La Manarine is situated on a picturesque plateau in the southern Rhone. Gilles, a talented vigneron, refined his skills while working as an assistant to Paul Jeune, the owner of Domaine Monpertuis in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. With each passing year, Gilles expanded his holdings, and today, Domaine La Manarine spans across 33 hectares of vineyards. The soil here is primarily characterized by a deep layer of more than 60% hard limestone “galets,” which are large, smooth pebbles. The domain is committed to organic viticulture, and minimal intervention is practiced in the cellar.

Excellent fruity wine with tannins presents but not invasive. Beautiful and rich wine, it’s generous yet elegant at the same time. Heritage 60-80 year-old vines gives a dry wine, with medium-body and aromas of strawberry, ripe cherry and blackcurrant.

Perfect to pair with lamb, pork and poultry. You can also enjoy it along the local cheeses Saint-Félicien and Saint-Marcellin.
