They have a smooth, tender texture and cook up juicy with a mild, savoury taste. Versatile and easy to prepare, they work well with grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, or fresh salads, and pair nicely with light white wines.

Basic cooking instructions:

  1. Remove sausages from the fridge 15–20 minutes before cooking.
  2. Preheat a pan or grill to medium heat.
  3. Cook the chipolatas for 10–12 minutes, turning regularly for even browning.
  4. Alternatively, roast in the oven at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes, turning halfway through.
  5. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F).
  6. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
