Couvreur’s Clearach by Michel Couvreur is a balanced, fresh, smooth and sweet drink Single Malt Whiskey aged for 3 years in ex-Sherry Andalusian casks placed in the cellars of Bouze-lès-Beaune, in Burgundy.
Clearach is the term that Michel Couvreur gives to his malt spirit until it is 3 years old.
The Malt is distilled in Scotland, then aged in old Sherry casks in Burgundy, then reduced with water from Loch Katrine in Scotland. A nice herbaceous freshness on slightly honeyed notes enhanced by traditional spiciness and warm notes coming from the Sherry casks. The smooth finish leaves a discreetly lining, slightly peppery-warming and very pleasant sensation on the palate.Excellent as an aperitif or easy sipper on the summer terrace!
Once more respecting the saying “when it grows together, it goes together”, the Clearach is a great companion of old Cheddar.
