Born in the Middle Ages, Gouda originated from Netherlands. This cheese owes its expansion to the development of trade in the 17th century. Made from Holstein cows’ milk, this special Gouda is full of character and has an intense flavour. The 1000-day maturation results in deep caramel flavours and a lovely crunchy texture due to the pronounced salt crystals that develop during the long ripening process.
