Mascarpone

(1 customer review)

Weight: 200

Cheese Type: Fresh cheese

Mascarpone is an Italian double or triple cream cheese originated in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy during the Renaissance, best known as an essential ingredient in tiramisu. But this sweet and silky cow’s milk cheese adds rich texture to savoury dishes, a quality achieved by its especially high percentage of saturated fat.

Ivory-coloured, exceptionally smooth, and easily spreadable, Mascarpone is fresh, milky and slightly sweet. The rich, buttery texture comes from its high butterfat content (up to 75 percent).

Wine Pairing:

Red wines (Beaujolais, Lambrusco)
Whites wines (Pinot Gris, Roussanne)
