Charentais melons are from the same family of Cantaloupe ones. They were first grown in Western France around 1920 in order to refine the Cantaloupe variety. You can now find it in other European countries such as Italy. Similar in texture, juicyness and sugar level, Charentais melon differentiates from Cantaloupe by its more intense aroma and specific skin pattern.
