Buffalo Mozzarella is part of the pasta filata family. The process includes to heat the curd to the point it can be stretched and formed into different shapes. The texture is soft, creamy, with a sour cream taste, a hint of salt and a milky flavour. Ciliegina is an Italian word for ‘cherry’.
These cherry sized mozzarella balls are perfect to create refreshing appetizers. Good news for the Mozzarella di Bufala lovers: it has been observed that its milk is higher in calcium and protein and lower in cholesterol than cow’s milk.
