Mint is native to southern Europe and Asia. There are several varieties: spearmint, peppermint and pennyroyal.
It has been known for many centuries, because it was already used in the Middle Ages mixed with opium to calm the pain of the sick. It is also appreciated for its antiseptic virtues of the respiratory and digestive tracts.
Its flavour is strong, fragrant and fresh. Mint does not like being mixed with other herbs, but it can be used in a thousand ways! It flavours all your dishes, both sweet and savoury: tabbouleh, jam, tart, etc. It can also be made into a pleasant refreshing tea, sorbets, coulis, etc.
