Made in Poitou-Charentes, Mothais-sur-Feuille takes its name from the commune of La Mothe Saint-Héray in the Deux-Sèvres region, where it first appeared in the 1840s. AOC since 2002, this fresh raw goat milk cheese is recognisable by the chestnut leave that wrap it. The leaf helps to absorb the humidity of the cheese and gives it back when the product start to dry it up. Nutty, goatty, floral and grassy, you will love its firm and dense paste surrounded by a creamier border.
Wine Pairing:
Red wines (Valencay, Arbois)
White wines (Sancerre, Jurancon Sec)

Claud –
Nice cheese. Beware to finish it asap, otherwise the leaf absorbs water and brings mould to the cheese
