Cheese Type: Uncooked, Unpressed cheese with a washed rind
The unpasteurised cow’ s milk Munster cheese, also called Munster Gerome was first produced by the XIIth Century by the Benedictine monks in the Monastery in the Vosgian area. The creamy washed rind has a stincky orange rind and a penetrating aroma. This AOC cheese has a savory taste but not too strong and it gets some milky, nutty and slightly tangy notes. A sweet wine as Gewurztraminer or even Rieslig would be ideal to pair with the slightly sweet flavour of the cheese.
Wine Pairing:
Red wine (Pinot noit)
White wine (Gewurstraminer)
