Gordal olives flourish in Andalucía, Spain, where tough Gordal trees thrive in the dry climate. Gordal means “the fat one” in Spanish. Made by Campomar Nature, a remarkable Spanish producer, specialized in healthy and nutritionally dense organic foods, with productions in Sevilla and Alicante.
The name is justified, these are some big, proudly fat olives, with plenty of firm, meaty richness to match their imposing size. It is a table olive with a profuse juiciness, but not bitter. It has an almost citrus-like taste on the palette.
Those delicious olives are great stuffed with peppers and garlic or served with Manchego cheese.
