Patrimoniu AOP, Domaine Montemagni, Menhir Rouge

Crafted in the heart of the Patrimoniu appellation, Menhir Rouge is the prestigious cuvée of Domaine Montemagni, embodying the bold and authentic character of northern Corsica. This family estate champions traditional methods and native grape varieties—most notably Niellucciu, a grape believed to have been introduced centuries ago by Genoese settlers. Closely related to Sangiovese, Niellucciu has since adapted to Corsica’s limestone soils and coastal influences, becoming the island’s flagship red grape.

Menhir Rouge delivers aromas of wild berries, dried herbs, and hints of spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and structured, with firm tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, slightly earthy finish. The wine masterfully expresses both the sun-soaked Mediterranean warmth and the freshness imparted by the nearby sea and rugged terrain.
