Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, established in the early eighteenth century by a Bordeaux Parliament adviser, saw its current castle structure built in 1850. Acquired by the Borie family in 1978 and managed by François-Xavier, the estate holds a legacy of prestigious Grands Crus Classés. With an exceptional Pauillac terroir, it consistently produces top-tier classified wines. Lacoste Borie, its second wine, is renowned alongside the illustrious Château Grand Puy Lacoste.
This 2019 vintage was a great success for Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste. The mild, dry winter allowed for an early bud burst. The arrival in April of cooler temperatures slowed down the pace of the vegetative cycle of the vines. The particularly hot and dry summer slowed the growth of the vines, then the light rains in September allowed the fruit to reach perfect ripeness.
This wine pairs exquisitely with red meats such as beef, pork, lamb, and veal, as well as robust hard cheeses like Comté, Mimolette, and Gruyère, enhancing the rich flavours and textures of both the wine and the dishes.
Food Pairing:
Red Meat (Beef, Pork, Lamb, Veal), Hard cheese (Comté, Mimolette, Gruyère)
