Also commonly known as the Donut Peach, Saturn Peach, or Peento, this variety is distinguished by its unique oblate (flattened or saucer-like) shape, unlike the round shape of traditional peaches. It typically has a very shallow suture and a small, often freestone, pit at its center.
The skin is smooth and blushed with red and pink over a creamy yellow background. The flesh is white or pale yellow, offering an exceptionally sweet, low-acid flavor with hints of almond. Its texture is tender, juicy, and less fuzzy than that of many common peach varieties.
Prized for its unique appearance, delightful sweetness, and easy-to-eat form, it is excellent for fresh eating, salads, and desserts. Its distinct shape also makes it easier for children to hold and eat.
