The Sancerre AOC 2023 from Domaine Lucien Crochet carries a rich heritage, with the Crochet and Picard families cultivating vines in Sancerre since 1765.
The domaine, in Bué, has bottled its own wines since 1934. Today, Laurence and Clément Crochet guide the estate, with 23 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone, marl, and flint soils. The taste is brilliant and refreshing, revealing pale gold with green reflections. The nose offers citrus, grapefruit, lemon, white flowers, boxwood, and flinty minerality. The palate is crisp and balanced, with vibrant acidity and a long, elegant saline finish. The 2023 vintage is charming and generous, yet classic.
Serve between 8 and 10°C. This versatile white pairs perfectly with oysters, grilled fish, and shellfish. It also shines with fresh goat cheese, salads, asparagus, and light poultry dishes. A true expression of Sancerre terroir.
