The Montbéliard sausage is a traditional smoked sausage from the Jura region of eastern France, rooted in centuries-old charcuterie practices. Made from coarsely ground pork and subtly seasoned with garlic, pepper, and other spices, it is lightly smoked over conifer and juniper wood, giving it a deep, robust flavour and a firm, satisfying texture.

No need to bring sausages in your luggage when traveling back from France, Cheeseclub got you covered! The first time they made this item available I think I bought more than a dozen to preciously save in the freezer. Now it’s bought from time to time, I find it really enjoyable cookies in a pot with lentils and some lardons and onions (which you can also find on Cheeseclub).

The sausage has a strong meat flavour and is quite salty. It tastes and smells better grilled than steamed. I’d suggest not adding much salt to the side dish. It’s a good portion and good value for money.
