Made in Burgundy region and known since the XIIth Century, Soumaintrain got his name by village where it was created. The farmhouse washed rind has a creamy texture and a distinct pungent flavour with a buttery and sweet taste. Aged, the maturation develops a powerful bouquet and enhance the orange colour, the aromatic and stinky smell of the rind is often compare to its cousin Epoisses. This IGP cheese is more delicate and can find a perfect pairing with some Creme de Cassis.
