A rich Vermouth Red from Maison Dolin is crafted in the French Alps using red wine infused with mountain botanicals. The recipe includes gentian, mugwort, and cinnamon, plus local herbs from Chambéry. It is sweetened with caramelized sugar, giving a deep amber hue and warm spice. Founded in 1821, Maison Dolin remains one of the last independent producers of traditional Chambéry vermouth, preserving a legacy that has thrived in the alpine village of Saint-André-les- Alpes for over two centuries.
Each sip offers a complex nose of dried cherries, vanilla, and clove. The palate is smooth, moderately sweet, and slightly bitter, with a long, herbal finish from the gentian root. Unlike Italian rosso vermouth, this style is lighter and more alpine, with less heaviness and more floral lift.
Serve on the rocks with an orange twist or use in a Manhattan or Negroni. Pair with dark chocolate, aged cheese, or roasted meats. A historic alpine vermouth from 1801, perfect for winter evenings in the Savoy mountains.
