Château d’Aiguilhe, acquired by Stephan von Neipperg in 1998, is a historic vineyard in Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux, featuring a 13th-century château with a rich history. Originally part of a fortified farm, it changed hands through the Albret and Leberthon families before being transformed into a 400-hectare farm by Etienne Martineau in 1920. Today, under Neipperg’s ownership, it’s renowned as one of Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux’s finest vineyards. The wines from Château d’Aiguilhe showcase a harmonious blend of strength and freshness, expressing the terroir’s character and reaching their full potential after 5 years of bottle aging.
The 2018 d’Aiguilhe exhibits aromas of ripe blackberries, grilled plums, tobacco and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a mineral finish, this wine is full of harmony and complexity.
Château d’Aiguilhe’s versatile is an excellent choice to pair with a range of dishes, from chocolate desserts to grilled fish, veal, beef, lamb, pasta, and mushroom-based recipes.
