Comté cheese has been produced for a very long time. The first indications of this cheese date back more than 2000 years: it was much appreciated in Rome, especially by Julius Caesar. Nowadays, Comté has the highest production of all French AOC cheese, it is also one of our best sellers!
When the cheese is over 3 years old, the paste crystallizes and can be enjoyed like a sweet. Perfect for special events, this 40-month-old Comté is exceptional and intense.
Accompanied by a quince jam with sweet spices, or a lightly flavoured honey, our Comté 36 months will release all its aromas. Try it with a glass of Champagne, for a luxurious experience.
Can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 weeks. Take it out of the refrigerator an hour before serving it at the table to taste all its flavours.

Strong but balanced nutty, salty, sweet and savoury taste, with some crystals providing additional texture. Very tasty on its own.
