Overaged is a blend of whiskys aged for more than 12 years in Burgundy undergoing the following process: the malt is distilled in Scotland, before ageing in old Andalusian Sherry casks. The end result is a nut-brown hue and rich dried date and caramel scent. The big, rounded palate surprises with smoke, underpinned with hints of Sherry, dried fig, and caramel, with a long baking spice finish.
Unfiltered, it is concentrated, and full-bodied, with particular toasted and slightly peaty hints. Served on the rocks, it is the best companion to smoked salmon and as a true after-dinner drink, perfect with a well-balanced cigar. A truly rare treat for connoisseurs.
