Cheese Type: Soft cheese with washed rind
Since 1928, the cheesemakers of the Perreault cheese dairy in Mayenne, in the Loire Valley, have perpetuated the traditional gestures which gives Vieux Pané its authentic character: each cheese is brushed with salt water and turned by hand, allowing them to reach maturity, intensify their aromatic notes and reveal their well-known taste.
The cheese reveals all its flavours and character under its beautiful orange rind. Inside, its straw-coloured paste is soft. On the palate, it is a fine cheese with aromatic notes of hazelnut.
To fully appreciate its flavours, take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before eating it and enjoy it simply, with its crust, on a slice of toasted country bread.
