Marechal is an ivory-colored, semi-soft French cheese made from cow’s milk. It has an exceptionally smooth, creamy texture that makes it easily spreadable. The paste has a rich, buttery quality from the high butterfat content (up to 75 percent).
Marechal has a fresh, milky flavour with hints of sweetness and a subtle tang. The rind is edible and has an earthy, mushroom-like taste that complements the creamy interior. This versatile cheese can be used for cooking and baking or simply spread on bread or crackers. Its decadent yet delicate taste and velvety texture make it a delightful addition to any cheese plate.
