Cheese Type: Cooked, Pressed, hard cheese
Finding its origins back when the Roman Empire expanded across the Piemontese mountain tops, the Toma Piemontese is perhaps the oldest cheese known in Italy. This cow milk cheese has a cylindrical shape with a flat surface, a smooth rind and a yellow and slightly reddish colour. Its texture is soft and light, while its taste is sweet, pleasant and delicate. Toma Piemontese goes very well with honey and fresh fruits.
