Vinho Verde and especially the ones made from Avesso grape used be a little fizzy, due to the end of the fermentation process in the bottles, nowadays winemakers tend to cut that features to reveal more of the aromas of this too-little-known gem.
Avesso is the hallmark white grape from the south of the Vinho Verde region. Deliciously crisp, with a touch of oak to add spice and flavours of ripe apples, its slight acidity will make it a great companion of shellfish dishes and chicken salad.
